Deià, Son Marroig, Llucalcari
Deià, small fishermen's village that transmits peace. Place of residence for artists and writers where they hid in order to inspire. Robert Graves, famous British writer and poet, author of "I, Claudio", lived in this quiet village.
Son Marroig has become a monument in honour of s'Arxiduc, Achduke Luis Salvador and whose passion for Mallorca was legendary. He arrived at the island when he was just 20, escaping from his courtesan life, and fell for the island.
Inside, one finds his personal belongings as well as photographs, books, pictures: a museum on his nonour. From the property's Gardens, one may see a rock, which comes out of the sea, called Na Foradada (the holed) because of its 18 metres in diameter hole.
Llucalari is not left behind in beauty. It is also known as "Carrer" and has many old edifices. Among them, one must highlight the defence towers that remind us of the terror of the Corsair attacks. It does not miss a small chapel, where the image of the Madre de Dios de los Desamparados is worshiped. Achduke Luís Salvador pointed out the latter unique beauty and charm.
